HERO’S Alliance believes that everyone can reach their full potential by enhancing the overall health, wellness and acceptance of people living in the Lac du Bonnet area.
Working with the community of Lac du Bonnet, HERO’S Alliance will work towards:
Connecting people to existing resources and services provided in Lac du Bonnet.
Identifying and addressing community needs within an interagency approach that is community-driven, information-based and action-oriented.
Collectively advocating for additional support services to better meet our community’s needs.
Developing new health and wellness programs and services for Lac du Bonnet.
Partnering with existing agencies to ensure sustainable operations of newly developed health and wellness programs and services in our community.
Networking and combining resources to achieve our goals and to strengthen our collective community.

FOOD SECURITY
Food security exists when all people have sufficient access to safe and nutritious food.
COVID-19 and economic changes have had a significant impact on Food Security for many people in our community. HERO’S Alliance partners with community to offer support, programming, and projects to increase opportunity to access affordable and nutritious food.

Lunch Is On Us is a twice weekly hot soup available for free!
Congregate Meal Programs are a hot lunch program for seniors and persons living with a disability. Lac du Bonnet offers Let’s Do Lunch at Park Manor, Wednesdays and Fridays. Contact Dianne at 204-345-2228Pinawa offers Shirley’s Kitchen at Vanier Centre, Mondays and Wednesdays. Contact Shirley at: 204-753-2087
Meal and Ingredient Bags: Stuck on Meal Ideas? Call Kristen Ticknor at 204-345-1230 for a nutritious, pre-portioned package of ingredients for a great meal! The food bank also offers the meal bags. They change all the time.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS
The Health and Wellness of a community starts with the physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual wellness of every person in the community.
At HERO’S Alliance, we provide support to:

Lac du Bonnet Youth Mentorship provides children and youth from ages 7 to 18 with the friendship and support of an adult mentor. Contact Ryna at 205-997-2054 or rynalpw@gmail.com if you are interested.
